President's Message
It was the best of times, it was the worst of times! Wow, what a lot of changes our state, schools, personal and professional lives have undergone this past year. I hope that you are weathering the changes well and looking forward to a bright future.
SCRA is changing too. We are going PAPERLESS! You will receive all event fliers and newsletters ONLINE! Look for an e-mail from the Solano County Office of Education to appear in your school e-mail periodically. We have even added PAYPAL for your convenience when becoming a new member or renewing your membership! Our website just keeps getting better and better. Check it out for wonderful information on literacy and helpful links ranging from the IRA site to this year’s California Young Medal Reader nominees site.
Due to some restructuring of our
organization, SCRA will not be sponsoring the Writing Contest for the
2011-12 school year. It has been increasingly difficult to enlist the
help of enough judges to adequately judge all the entries. If you are
interested in helping judge the writing contest when it is held next
year (2012-2013) please email Jackie Albright.
